Pond dipping sessions at Frylands Wood are run at our man-made pond, just past the crew hut. A pond dipping session is a chance for participants to explore the wildlife that can be found in the pond by using nets to gently catch, observe and then release whatever they can find. For this session, we provide nets, shallow trays and wildlife identification cards.
Pond dipping sessions are normally self-led, so please ensure you read, understand & sign the related ‘Conditions of Use’ before starting the session. It will then be your responsibility to ensure the session is run in as safe a manner as possible, including managing your participants behaviour throughout. However, Frylands Wood staff are always happy to go through the activity folder with you so that you can get the best out of your session.
