Tunnels sessions at Frylands Wood are run in our purpose-built tunnels system next to the assault course. Tunnelling is a simpler, man-made version of pot holing. Participants crawl through the tunnel system (with or without torches) to reach given locations or to complete certain tasks. For tunnelling, we use Petzl Panga helmets. Information on this equipment can be found in the equipment bag.
Tunnels sessions are normally self-led, so please ensure you read, understand & sign the related ‘Conditions of Use’ before starting the session. It will then be your responsibility to ensure the session is run in as safe a manner as possible, including managing your participants behaviour throughout. However, Frylands Wood staff are always happy to go through the activity with you so that you can get the best out of your session.
